The ITU Anti-doping Team would like to announce that the World Anti-doping Agency (WADA) has released a special issue of its flagship magazine, Play True, outlining WADA’s role at the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

According to a WADA press release “in addition to the paper and standard PDF versions, the magazine is now also available in a new Web format, launched last November, which provides extra content including video clips.

The special issue of Play True, along with the anti-doping rules of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for the Vancouver Games, can be found in a section of WADA’s Web site dedicated to the Games. Access this new section at www.wada-ama.org/invancouver.

The Vancouver issue of Play True highlights WADA’s responsibilities at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. While the IOC and the IPC are responsible for anti-doping at their respective Games, WADA will assume a number of roles in the lead-up to, and during, the Games. These include in particular the presence of Independent Observer and Athlete Outreach Teams, the members of which are presented in this issue.

Along with regular features, such as editorials from WADA’s President John Fahey and Director General David Howman, this issue also contains contributions from the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) on their commitment to anti-doping, as well as a profile of the WADA accredited laboratory responsible for analyzing doping control samples collected as part of the Games.

A number of initiatives that are outlined in the magazine will also be in place during the XXX Olympic Summer Games in London in 2012 and may be of interest to triathletes as well.
