E-Board Meets in Madrid

Under the leadership of ITU President Marisol Casado, the ITU Executive Board waded through a heavy agenda at their recent meeting the weekend of 17, 18 April in Madrid. 

The focus was on the financial report and an updated 2009 budget and the 2010-2013 ITU Strategic Plan which included staff action plans and the Communication Plan.  The board also reviewed the roles and responsibilities of the ITU Committees with detailed reports from the new ITU Multisport Committee and the Paratriathlon Committee, both which have been working very hard to get there committee work on track. 

Marisol Casado also held of meeting of the new Development Commission which is made up of the President’s of the five continental confederations.  The key responsibility of the Commission will be to work with Libby Burrell, Director of ITU Sport Development to coordinate development efforts through the Continental Confederation. 

The other two active commissions reviewed by the board were the Coaches Commission and the new Winter Triathlon Commission. 

The next meeting of the ITU Executive Board will be Wednesday, 9 September in the Gold Coast prior to the Dextro Energy Triathlon – ITU Triathlon World Championships Grand Final.
