By World Triathlon Admin | 06 Mar, 2008

Lanzhou, China will host an ITU Continental Cup on July 20, just a few weeks prior to the opening of the Beijing Olympic Games.

This will be the first time an ITU-sanctioned race will take place in Lanzhou, which is located in the Gansu province.  With a population of close to 3 million people, it is one of the largest cities in western China.  As the geographical center of the country, Lanzhou is considered as the gateway to the Silk Road.

More information on the Lanzhou ITU Asian Cup will be available on its event page on triathlon.org
