Welcome to Edinburgh for the European Duathlon Championships

By World Triathlon Admin | 23 Apr, 2007

Dear friends,

On behalf of the City of Edinburgh, Event Scotland, Triathlon Scotland and Edinburgh racing, it is with much pleasure that the British Triathlon Federation invites you and your athletes to
join us in the beautiful city of Edinburgh for a truly challenging race for the ETU European Duathlon Championships over 10km run, 40km cycle, 5km run on Saturday 16th June (with a sprint event for juniors).

RACES
We are offering Junior, U23 and elite races and are very excited to hear news about top duathletes making plans to come. Please note that this is also a round of the ITU Duathlon World Series as well, so there may be a few elite duathletes competing for a total prize purse of Euros 20k from outside Europe too. We are also planning for a very strong age group competition as well. Great Britain’s age group team will be over 300 and we are VERY keen to encourage you to motivate your age group athletes to come and take us on!

Although there will be no separate team event, European medals will be awarded for combined results in the individual races. This will be another great opportunity to go home with medals to keep your sports councils happy and some funding flowing into duathlon!

INFORMATION
Our race organisers, Bruce & Catriona Kidd, have put together a website
www.euroduathlon2007.com on which you will find all details about:
