By Masa Takaya | 01 Mar, 2010

The ITU has released the updated the list of qualified countries and their eligible athletes for the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The most recent list can be downloaded here:

Singapore 2010 Standings in the qualification process for Triathlon as of 23rd January 2010

Please note that the countries listed in the first table are the qualified NOCs. An athlete can be selected from the eligible athletes by their NOC to represent their country at the Youth Olympic Games. Each qualified NOC will be limited to one male and one female triathlete at the Youth Olympic Games.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will release a number of Universality Spots in the mid-March, and the information will be posted accordingly. These spots will be distributed among the continents to the next NOCs, according to the qualification criteria. The roll-down order of the NOCs within a continent can be found in the tables called “Order of the NOCs with no qualified athletes”.  The allocation of the roll down spots is based on the results of the NOC at the Continental qualifying events.

The remaining unused Universality spots - if any - will be released by the IOC in June 2010 and will be reallocated according to the same criteria as above, continuing with the next continent - based on the qualification criteria - following the procedure in March.
