Ranking system 2006
The ITU Winter Triathlon ranking will be updated by Enrique Quesada, ITU Ranking Manager. The ranking will be calculated according to the following system:

The new part in the ranking system is the recognition of the National Championships in the ITU Winter Triathlon ranking. Every National Federation has to send the full official results of their Winter Triathlon National Championships to the ITU European Office in Budapest/ETU Headquarters. On the National Championships athletes only from that country will get points where the event is held. The maximum number of races counts per athlete is 4. The last event will be the Kuopio Winter Triathlon World Cup, which will count in the 2006 Winter Triathlon Ranking. The number of countries participating on the World Championships and the World Cup series and staging a National Championships is a key element of a higher recognition of the sport.

Overall Prize Money
ITU will fund 8.000 US$ of bonus pool prize money for the top 5 women and men athletes.
