The 2018 Mooloolaba ITU World Cup is a sprint distance triathlon - 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run.  The event will be held on the scenic beaches and coastal roads of Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.

The 2018 Mooloolaba ITU Triathlon World cup will consist of the following:

SWIM - 1 lap course, triangle shaped course. Starting on the beach and swimming in a clockwise direction.

CYCLE - 4 lap 5km loop.  Out and back clockwise ride along Mooloolaba Esplanade and Alexandra Parade.  Gradual climb along Mooloolaba Esplande from transition to Buderim Avenue intersection before descent onto Alexandra Parade.  Sharp turn point at the corner of Maroubra street before inbound journey along Alexandra Parade.  Sharp technical dog leg turn before downhill descent onto Beach Terrace to transition.  The “first runner, last rider” scenario is applicable for this event.  In this case the rider will be taken off the course.

RUN - 3 laps.  An undulating course taking in stunning coastal views along the way.  Out and back course ran in a clockwise direction along Mooloolaba Esplanade and Alexandra Parade.  Gradual climb along Mooloolaba Esplande from transition to Buderim Avenue intersection before short descent onto Alexandra Parade before turning after Buderim Avenue.

Media are welcome to attend 2018 Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival, on the provision that an application for accreditation is submitted and approved.

We request that journalists wishing to attend please complete the Online Accreditation Form, to assist us in helping you get the best out of your attendance. This form will be available 1 month from the event on this page.

No on-site media applications will be taken. As applications are processed, media will be notified of their access and will be provided with a media kit. All media granted credentials must pick up those credentials at the Media Centre - see location below. We will not issue credentials on race day.

Media Centre will be located in the Harbour Room at Mantra Mooloolaba Beach, 7 Venning Street, Mooloolaba and will be open from:

South Africa’s Richard Murray was top seeded leading into today’s race and he certainly didn’t disappoint by motoring home to claim victory in the 2018 Mooloolaba ITU Triathlon World Cup.
