ITU recently held a Level 2 seminar for event organizers and technical officials in conjunction with the European Triathlon Union and Nederlandse Triathlon Bond in Nieuwegein, Netherlands. Twelve officials from the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Estonia, and Trinidad and Tobago attended the two-day seminar, which was conducted at the House of Dutch Sports.

ITU senior manager of technical operations Thanos Nikopoulos was on site to lead the conference, which was focused on qualifying attendees to officiate major events. The course was designed to enhance the skills of the participants in officiating continental cups, multisport continental championships, and multisport series events as technical delegates. The knowledge they gained will also be used at world championships, world cups and major events as technical officials.

“It was a very interesting course,” said NTB technical committee chair Sander Verheuvel. “There were two long days with a lot of information, but we never lost our focus due to continuous interaction. The workshops, case studies from different event, photos and videos made the course extremely attractive.”
